Would anyone know if dh is working 30hr per week & if I start to work 16hours per week would our tax credits get affected?

Currently get £240 in working tax credits every 4weeks

Also would child tax credits get effected if I start working? Lo is 2.5 just figuring out what would be best

It really depends on how much you both earn.

If your jount income is more than around 18k then working tax credits will stop.

Dh gets £8.06ph works 30 hours per week.
Job which has been offered to me is 16 hours ph at minimum wage. I should have worked all this out before job hunting I guess. I really wanted LO to get 30hrs from September so was looking into working. But weighing out if it's better for me to loose tax credits for him to go the extra 15hrs or to let him just go the 15hrs he is currently Confused

Have you tried the tax credit calculator? If you put all your details in based on the job you're looking at, it'll give you an estimate of what you could get.

You will get less tax credits but you will have another wage so will almost certainly be better off as long as you don’t have to pay out a lot for childcare to enable you to work
