Car insurance

Hi, we had a non-fault claim back in January ( stationary in traffic and hit from behind). Insurance have been less than helpful and required very firm direction from us the repairs etc.
Just had renewal through and it's gone from £600 to £1700 for the year! Apparently it's still not sorted out as a non-fault claim and they have no timescales in when this will be resolved. I am livid. Would the financial ombudsman help it does anyone have any advice?

This is standard practice. You can try shopping around through, but you’re likely to find higher prices. (You’re a higher risk for a fault claim when you’ve had a non-fault claim.)

I know it'll be higher but the reason it's so high is that they have put it down as a 'fault' until it's resolved as 'non-fault'. They have no timescale on sorting this part out.

As I say, that’s standard. It’s not a non fault claim until the other side has paid in full.
