We've just had a huge new B&M open near us.

I've never been before, what are the best buys and things to look out for?

Don't do it, you'll pop in for washing powder and come out with 5 bags of junk food Grin I always end up with Pop Tarts, Almond Fingers, Peanut Cookies, Reeces and Kinder Eggs - DS loves it when I say I have to call in.

Oh, and various random spice mixes. It is really food for things like chilli sauce and soy etc and I always get things like salt and pepper from there.

GlitterGlassEye · 29/03/2018 22:09

Everything really. That’s all I can say. Go and have a wander. It’s great.

Food aisle - heck of a lot of junk food, some decent brands.
Toiletries & makeup worth a look - some bargains to be had. Lots of rubbish.
There's a theme emerging here... I buy my pink Himalayan salt there.

Their homeware has a lot of tacky stuff, but equally some much nicer stuff too. I've bought some good quality throws from there cheaper than anywhere else. Their cushions aren't bad, and things like storage boxes and baskets. I got a decent pair of lined curtains cheap from there too. They do lots of scented candles, candle holders, mirrors and photo frames too.
They do a good range of decorating stuff and paint all of which is good value.
I always browse the hair and make up products too as they have branded make up (max factor, rimmel, maybelline etc) at around half the usual price.
Be prepared to come out with a lot more than you went in for Grin

I was given some newborn vests from there which were really very good, nice and soft, and washed really well too.

Cat food (24 box) & Tigi shampoo.

Occasionally a pot of paint.

Thats it.

Cleaning aisle is great. Products always at supermarket offer prices.

Decorative ornaments lights etc are good rip offs of next if you like that stuff.

They do lovely wallpaper if your store stocks it. Great pic and mix too and I love the garden aisle. Had a gorgeous garden log burner in ours today.

fia101 · 03/04/2018 20:41

I go in for loo roll and come out with bags of stuff I don't need like candles, doormats, pillows, stuff for the dog, wooden garden swing, deckchairs for the kids.

Christmas is a dangerous to enter shit shops
