Life Insurance Policy recommendations please. Are Beagle Street to good to be true? TIA

I am a Mortgage Broker and used to work for a life insurance company previously.

Life insurance is life insurance, it pays out if you die (as blunt as that sounds) it is pretty difficult for an insurance company to dispute it.

Beagle Street tend to be one of the cheaper policies out there and that is fine.

However, there are other policies that cost a little more but include a few added extras. For example, my own policy is with Aviva, it comes with 2 added benefits:

  1. Bupa healthline - so rather than trying to get hold of your GP which I recently found out takes 3 hours of calling and then 2 weeks to get an appointment unless you are dying (then they will see you a little sooner), you can discuss your symptoms and they will give you an idea of whether you need to go to hospital or sit it out.
  2. Best Doctors - this is huge in my personal opinion - when our little girl was born (10 months ago) she was in and out of hospital for 2-3 months. Best doctors allows you to send off your medical reports for a second opinion on the diagnosis and also the best form of treatment. It does not cover the cost of treatment (although it can cover some treatments if you pay for the upgrade) for the policy holder and their children.

Other insurers have different benefits, but I paid for the upgrade of best doctors. You imagine finding out you are seriously ill. As much as I love the NHS, I would rather have one of the best doctors in the world in that field checking over my test results.
