Car insurance - for learner driver, own car

Hi, I’m a learner driver and just about to purchase a car to speed the process of getting my licence.
Does anyone know if I can get insurance without a licence? Alternative is to put car on Dh insurance.
I’m clueless

Yes, you can get insurance as a provisional driver and you will be fine to drive as long as you have someone with a full license with you (I think they have to have had a license for 3 years, but this could have changed).

You will probably find that insurance is cheaper whilst you're learning as well and will probably go up once you pass your test.

This is because as a learner you always have an experienced driver in the car with you but once you pass... You're on your own.

I think Marmalade insurance do insurance for learners.

Go on comparethemarket.com and you can say that you only have a provisional license.

I went with Diamond for my DD. They have 2 options , pay a lower price which goes up when you pass your test , or pay a slightly higher price which doesn't go up once you've passed.

We used marmalade....as you get nearer to your test you can just pay for a month at a time
Good luck!

There are lots of insurers who do learner policies.

The advice is the same for all insurance - hit the comparison sites remembering to clear your cookies each time
