To Move or Not to Move

Hi partner and I are toying with the idea of moving home before the baby arrives in a 6 months. We would be moving to a nicer area, only 10 mins away but will be paying a lot more for the same space. We would move to bring our child up in a better and nicer area, which is better for nursery's and schools but this means we'd have a lot less disposable income each month, especially when I go on maternity, but we will survive. The area we live is ok but not the greatest, but we are very very comfortable financially.

Wanting the opinion of others, is it worth moving to be in a nicer and better area for our child this early on or wait a few years until they are older to make the move or is being financially comfortable a better choice long term??

If you own and would need to sell and buy, I'd be inclined to do it now. Less stress than trying to do it with a baby/toddler and you'd have time to settle.

If you're renting, then it might be easier to stay put so you're more comfortable financially, build up savings, pensions etc. You could then move to the catchment area of your desired school in time for applications in a few years.
