Want to claim back bank charges but where do I start???

Hi, have been reading some of the threads on here and some of you have been successful in claiming back your bank charges and I would like to do the same but dont know where to start? I bank with the Halifax, has anyone had refunds from them??

go to www.moneysavingexpert.com i have started bank charges and credit cards.this web site has a very good interest calculater, takes a while to do but looks proffesional.

there are a few threads on here if you look in the money matters section. First step is at ask for statements for last 6 years and add up the charges for yourself. You can do this by writing to or phoning your bank's customer services dept.

Worthwhile doing. We've had over £500 back

It took us about 4 months from writing the first letter to getting the money in the bank. Worth it in the end though.

Just another quick question do they charge for the statements do I need to send money with the letter??
