Butlins price match

Does anyone know how butlins price match works?
We booked a break and was told that it qualifies for price match. Essentially if the same break is offered cheaper at a later date we can ask for a refund of the difference.
The accommodation is now quite a bit cheaper on the website for the same date but the dining package is more expensive as it is no longer on kids eat free (which it was at the time we booked). Does the price match apply just to accommodation or is it the break as a whole?
Has anybody ever asked butlins for a refund under price match?
Money is really tight at the moment and this is the only break we are having so every penny saved helps.

I suspect they will use the difference in the dining package offering as evidence that it's not the 'same' holiday, or you could find that the total price is still the same, it's just that the individual components are priced differently.

I'm always suspicious of price match offers for this very reason, its far too easy for them to make slight tweaks to the offering to make the price match offer invalid.

Only thing you can do is read the T&Cs of the price match carefully and apply for the refund if you think you have a case.

I suspect you are right barbara. I suppose it just annoys me that if we hadn’t booked the dining package we would definitely have a case for a refund of around £100 difference in the holiday cost. I don’t think many people manage to get refunds on price match from butlins because of the way they add up the package costs. Taking the dining discount into account the difference isn’t big enough for me to make a fuss.

The price match will be for the whole package probably but you could ring and ask. I've claimed money back under the price promise and it's always been really easy and the staff have been lovely. Keep an eye on it as it might change again and you can't claim if there's only a couple of days before your holiday starts.

Thanks creditnote. It’s nice to know that somebody has had a refund under price promise. I suspect we won’t qualify but I will try and have a read of the T&Cs just in case Smile
