Is it worth complaining to OFGEM?

NPOWER have totally messed up my account and are now threatening debt recovery.

It’s a long story. Sorry not meaning to drip feed but worried about outing myself

I did this with Spark Energy as they totally messed up my direct debut Be prepared to wait 28 days for their findings.

They did make Spark backdate my bills to a cheaper rate for the previous 12 months so definitely worth it.

Good luck

No. Ofgem are the regulator and don't deal with individual complaints, you need the energy ombudsman

OldHag1 · 16/02/2018 18:35

Really?

Oh sugar. Ok. Is it worth complaining to the Ombudsman?

Is there anyone else.

Will they just side withNPOWER?

megwitchandmogcat · 16/02/2018 18:38

You can complain through ofgem. I have done this.

megwitchandmogcat · 16/02/2018 18:40

Sorry your right. I complained through the energy ombudsman not ofgem Blush

Userplusnumbers · 16/02/2018 18:41

"Ofgem’s role in gas and electricity complaints
We don’t have a direct role in dealing with individual disputes between customers and energy suppliers"

It's likely they passed your complaint to the ombudsman. This is standard practice when they receive complaints

But yes OP - the ombudsman are impartial and according to the complaints data on their website they side with the customer in a staggeringly high number of n power complaints

OldHag1 · 16/02/2018 19:22

So complain to the Ombudsman and OFGEN then?

Has anyone ever applied to Charisma Grants?

OldHag1 · 16/02/2018 19:22

Grrrr auto correct! Charis Grants.

19lottie82 · 17/02/2018 06:09

Yes definitely apply to ofgen. I’ve used them twice and they’ve sorted it every time.

OldHag1 · 17/02/2018 12:22

Brilliant. Thanks

specialsubject · 17/02/2018 12:46

Yes, once you have been through the n power complaints procedure.

They messed up with me ( a while back) and at every chase call I asked for compensation for wasted time. At £25 a go it paid a good chunk of the bill that year.

OldHag1 · 17/02/2018 13:14

They have offered me £150 to go away
