Thread 34 may be no more;
Thread 35 is quite alive.

Let's make sure it stays that way.

This thread is here to expose the garageful of lies pedalled by multi level marketing (network marketing) schemes, i.e outrageous health claims, unlimited wealth and residual earnings, to name but a few.

Bloody hell. Only just caught up. You ladies have been through a lot! It does re-enforce how evil the top of FLP are, even those who have moved on to other MLMs presumably to continue their evil.

This ex Mary Kay rep's story was linked on FB recently. I read through it and her uplines sound no different from the uplines in other MLMs.

That's the thing though: they sell it as an opportunity to spend more time with your family, when in actual fact they deny you that time and become utterly vicious and abusive bullies when you don't. Or when you overtake them. Because that's when their green eyed greedy inner self surfaces.

They really do become a physical representation of the 7 cardinal sins.

MumBlog4 · 23/01/2018 13:13

Quickly catching up as I eat lunch but I was reading a thread last night that said Flp basically closed down a load of mn threads for defamation? Is this right? What are they scared of?

I did look into fl before I joined but the person who recruited me was a good friend and she showed me all the nice things. She said there is some bad stuff you can read but the company history speaks for itself.. .. and I was just so vulnerable and these glam women were all being my friend. I realise how sad that sounds but that is the truth of the matter. They're absolute vultures.....

Dora, yes you're right about that one. All the upline do it. Either directly such as messages or exclude you for not doing 4cc etc.... mean girl tactics.

I spoke at an event once.... had to pay to get in as well 😂 what a joke.

And they keep all the training bits quite secret then over the course of a month you're bombarded (usually after your 14 day cooling off period)

On a few occasions my upline worded me messages to send to my down line. Some were quite awful actually but I was told to lead from the front and don't accept their excuses. I feel particularly awful for that. I never recruited any friends or family though.... just strangers oddly enough.

In the early days of these threads we had some trouble as individual bots that were mentioned could be identified and as that’s against Mumsnet policy some posts were deleted
Mumsnet moderators sometimes came on to post guidelines so no one strayed from them, I think Forever Living were keeping a close eye on the discussions and instantly complained as soon as they saw anything they could complain about

The last thread was completely deleted, quite rightly in my opinion, because it turned into a pile on on one particular unfortunate low level bot in a coffee MLM and people were commenting on things that were nothing to do with the MLM

This thread is back to what we do best and why we started: expose the MLM world for the exploitative schemes, lies and dodgy practice.

My particular bugbear is Forever Living as I witnessed what that company did to my friend, but all the MLM companies operate in a similar fashion.

darceybussell · 23/01/2018 13:48

Yes, the FLP lawyers got a bit twitchy at one point and sent loads of complaints to mumsnet. There had been some discussion at one point about how many MLMs are run by Mormons and how prolific MLMs are in Mormon communities in Utah. The FLP lawyers claimed that was 'hate speech' - they like a good overreaction in the MLM world!

CurlsandCurves · 23/01/2018 14:32

I never did any research prior to joining. I trusted my friend when she told me how great it was. I joined about 14/15 years ago and at that time FL and NM in general were relatively new to the UK. So there was a really positive vibe to it all. They’d say if you walk down the street and ask 10 strangers if they’ve heard of FL, most will say no. And that’s fantastic because it shows how much scope for growth there is for this business and for you.
So what I saw was a different type of ‘business’ with a company that was still fairly new in the uk and so people would be falling over themselves to find out what I’m doing and what these new products are all about. No social media back then either so it was purely word of mouth, sitting down with your phone book and going through it from A to Z. And building your FROG list and going through them one by one.

God it was tedious.

Wow @Dora are they really admitting on FB that they are suffering from anxiety? I thought everything had to be kept super positive?

If Forever Living lawyers are reading this, perhaps you might consider publishing the average earnings disclosure so you can refute what ex FBOs are saying? Just a thought.

It must also be the disconnect between real life and what they have to try to portray

Cognitive dissonance

Whiterangey · 23/01/2018 19:50

I wasn't aware that hate speech was the reason threads got shut down before.

I can't see anything in this thread worthy of a lawyer getting involved with.

Telling your own story and telling the truth is not a cause for legal action against where you are putting your words.

I've been wandering around facebook looking at a few bots who are on the lower levels of Forever.

The love bombing they are under is extreme. Anyone would respond to that level of positive pressure. If someone was encouraging me to 'work my business' with that level of pressure I would do anything I could to please them. Even if it meant doing things like annoying everyone I know and using my own money to buy product to make them prouder of me.

I've seen some vulnerable people getting a whole lot of love bombing.

acatcalledjohn · 23/01/2018 20:27

Telling your own story and telling the truth is not a cause for legal action against where you are putting your words.

But that will be seen as slander/defamation (whichever term suits the specific story) in their reality. That it is miles away from actual reality is neither here nor there.

You've got to be a lawyer without any credible prospects to end up working for an MLM. After all, the only reason there is a product line is to hide that it is a pyramid scheme. And as long as a pyramid scheme with a product isn't covered by existing law it's neither legal nor illegal.

Meaning that you rely on the morals of people with a desperation to get rich.

MumBlog4 · 23/01/2018 21:00

Evening all.....

So in summary, thank you for explain why the forever legal seagulls (😂 I'm going into comedy I swear 😂) shut down a few threads here. I know about the last one, I did contribute actually but only out of complete shock at what was going on and I still stand by words I wrote, that said, it isn't the purpose of these threads. I would hope anyone reading these has a second thought about MLM if they were thinking of it. It's not a way to make money, it will lose you money I can almost 99% guarantee you.

Interesting stuff about mormons.... quite cultish anyway?? I could be wrong so stand to be corrected here, I'm not educated on Mormon practises.

Also, the anxiety mention. My sapphire had severe anxiety issues. Quite open and honest about them in fact. And really I don't think that person is the bad person in all of this...... she has no business now.... not that I can see anyway?

I harbour no bad feelings towards any of them I don't think, even the top ones... after all, what goes around, comes around. So I hope for their own sakes that they are operating with absolute integrity. But I will now become a more active member of the anti mlm movement because I know they prey on the vulnerable.

Money isn't everything FLP...... #justsayin

Whiterangey · 23/01/2018 21:03

I'm not shocked at the anxiety thing.

It must be hard to have to pretend to be earning a lot of money when you are struggling to keep up with an extravagant lifestyle.

I'm exhausted thinking about it.

The cars and houses as well, pretending they are bought when they are rented, heavily mortgaged, and the cars are leased.

If you leave the company or you were under a 'car plan' and the company goes tits up then you are stuck with the payments. You also can't just get a sensible, economical, mid priced car, it has to be expensive.

I'm keeping from everyone that my username is actually leased, I don't own it outright like you think I do. I've been test driving RedPorsche and PinkLambo as usernames, though if I was being honest 2007Zafira is closer to what I can afford.

Those in Valentus who hit car plan and went out and leased the expensive cars made me anxious. It was all for show and now they are stuck with them until the end of the lease or until they break the lease because they cannot afford it.

Spongebobette · 23/01/2018 21:21

I always wondered about the Car Plan thing. You have to get to a certain level to ‘unlock’ car Plan but from what I understand you have to pay the lease yourself?
Arbonne is an example of this, it’s all about qualifying for a white Merc

One top FL was test driving a high end car this week and of course taking photos to put on FB

Top UK Bot couples son/stepson featured in Men's Health.

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.menshealth.com/weight-loss/marcus-leach-weight-loss-six-pack-transformation%3famp

Bet Mummy wasn't pleased to not get a mention in there since he was all over Forever marketing saying he used the Forever programmes !

Though his social media account is on there so no doubt this is an 'attraction marketing' attempt - make the people seek YOU out!

ReformedBot · 23/01/2018 22:00

CarPlan is actually called 'Earned Incentive'. It was an extra bonus paid in with your team leader bonus. Because the first level was over £250 (Level 3 was £525) people nicknamed it 'Car Plan' as you could afford to PCP a premium car for that amount.

If a person qualified and then didn't maintain the CC levels needed, they would get a percentage of the Car Plan proportionate to the CC they have done. This is obviously no use to those whose businesses have evaporated!

ReformedBot · 23/01/2018 22:01

@sponge those pictures were SO contrived and desperate for attention!!

ReformedBot · 23/01/2018 22:04

PAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I just looked on the Twitter page of TopUKBots son, as mentioned above and in one of his pictures he's only gone and tagged...

HOLLAND & BARRATT

😂😂😂😂😂

That is just absolute gold!

acatcalledjohn · 23/01/2018 22:12

Holland and Barrett do some fab aloe based drinks too, at a fraction of the cost of supplies from his mum...

You are right, that is gold! Grin

MumBlog4 · 23/01/2018 22:30

😂😂😂 this is the most desperate attempt at getting flp in the media without mentioning flp, that I have ever seen.... even his quotes smell of MLM positivity.... "you only fail if you quit " .... now where have we heard that one before Hmm

BSintolerant · 24/01/2018 06:33

If that's his definition of failure, it's a crude one at that. How does he define success? Selling overpriced products derived from a well-known laxative and living off money created by debts run up by his downline?

As so many bots get into debt, or fund their lifestyles by living off debt created by their team members it defeats me how the scheme has managed to get itself certified as "halal". There's nothing halal about debt and running up interest created by debt - it's not Islamic. That's why I'm amazed to see schemes like this popping up in the UAE, especially where poor migrant populations are at risk of being exploited.

Hello everyone, thought it would be nice to pop back in after reading a few bits online about the changes at FLP, all my bots seem to have dug their head in the sand all of a sudden, very little in the way on social media these days about their fabulous days out, or even a small mention about team training or even the happy clappy event of success days. I managed to log back into my FLP account and read the updated T&C's on how CC's are changing and any bonuses are paid too, no wonder they are all hiding. I am glad to see that it does seem to be getting less annoying on FB on the constant posts.

Spongebobette · 24/01/2018 11:24

Hello @dadandmum I’ve noticed too that there is less cheerleading and also that some of the top bots are trying to move into new areas such as business mentoring
I wonder if they realise that the name Forever Living is tainted now which is why you don’t see it mentioned.
It’s ridiculous that these people think they have anything to offer real businesses; jus calling yourself a business coach does not make you one!
