Merilin pass confiscated what next

schooling123 · 06/01/2018 22:10

Misunderstanding at attraction, fruend did not speak English so could not explain why he had my pass and as a result my pass confiscated. I said tgat I would like to explain the sityation but they did not listen at all. Just wrote their own bit and tgat was it. They said to go to office where passes were issued, but when we went they said that they had a phone call from the attraction not to reprint my pass... they said to try Merilin Central office. Will they listen?

Did your friend try to use your pass? Otherwise how would they know he had it? They're pretty strict as it is technically fraud. You can try to ring them Monday but wIthout a very good reason they are under no obligation to reissue it.

WheresTheEvidence · 06/01/2018 22:17

But it's against the rules to use your pass. They say that they will take the pass and ban the member if the pass is caught being used by someone else.

Your friend is not allowed your pass.

headintheproverbial · 06/01/2018 22:19

They are very very clear that if someone else uses your pass you lose it.

Perhaps phoning again and / or putting a complaint in writing will work but to be honest I can't really imagine what your explanation might be.

Caulk · 06/01/2018 22:23

It’s hard to know without the backstory but maybe try social media if you can’t get a response any other way?

WeAllHaveWings · 06/01/2018 22:41

If you let your friend use your pass its completely reasonable for them to revoke it under their t&c

If your friend tried to use your pass without your permission it is still completely reasonable for them to revoke it under their t&c and you should take up your issue with your friend who should buy you another pass.

Unless there is another story?

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 06/01/2018 22:43

You broke the terms and conditions under which you bought the pass. How many friends had you lent it to?!

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 06/01/2018 22:45

Your post is very convoluted; can we assume you weren't actually with your friend at the time? What exactly did the staff "misunderstand", in that case?

Cbaanymore123 · 06/01/2018 22:46

Lol so someone else used your pass and got it taken off you. Now your annoyed.

Farahilda · 06/01/2018 22:48

Unless you can demonstrate that your friend already had an equivalent pass and they had simply picked the wrong one up (staying with you?) then the chances of your getting this pass back are less than remote.
Indeed you may be bared from holding a pass again.

Even if the misuse was an error, they could still refuse you a reissued pass, as use by another person is a breach of the T&C.

BrieAndChilli · 06/01/2018 22:51

What was the explanation for them using your pass??
I can’t really think of any situation that would be acceptable!

WillowWept · 06/01/2018 22:52

Why did your friend have your pass?

WitchesHatRim · 06/01/2018 22:54

They were using your pass fraudulently. They are non transferable.

Not sure what you expected.

DailyMailareDicks · 06/01/2018 23:08

I would be interested to know OP's reason for friend having pass, although they haven't answered yet. There has been an occasion where I may have been in similar position.

I'm disabled, use a wheelchair and have young DS. We have a merlin pass and I get a free carer's pass. It has my name and photo on it with the name on the card saying carer of:xxx.

I've been in the queue and sent DH back to the car for something, he's kept 'his' pass which is the carers pass and I went through with DS. I said that DH was on his way and would come through but I guess if carer was a non-English speaker then this situation would be difficult.

I've always found staff very helpful and heard them resolving other people's issues very well. I hope you get it sorted OP.

Theimpossiblegirl · 06/01/2018 23:21

I was wondering if it mIght be something like that DMaredicks.

CotswoldStrife · 06/01/2018 23:23

Why did your friend have your pass, OP? You haven't said.

Fitbitironic · 06/01/2018 23:29

daily op said it was her pass though, not her carers pass, which is a pretty big distinction.

notapizzaeater · 06/01/2018 23:59

Why would he have your pass? There is no reason to have it ?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 07/01/2018 00:24

I doubt OP will return as they haven't had anyone supportive of their fraud.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 07/01/2018 00:33

I don’t think the OP is coming back...
