Maternity pay/allowance

Mumsy90 · 03/01/2018 20:52

Long story short
• quit my part time job in September
• got a job interview next week
• I’m 8+6 weeks pregnant

Would I qualify for maternity pay of some description if I get this job?

Thanks!

Depends whether you have worked enough weeks in past 2 years and were above the earnings threshold.

Yeah you get a two year window but you have to have paid enough tax i think? I worried because i quit my job in November & am due in June but i qualify based on the prior two years of tax

www.gov.uk/maternity-allowance/eligibility
It needs to be minimum 26 weeks working within 66 weeks of your due date.

You are entitled to some benefits whatever your work history. Check out the above and/or visit your local citizens advice/ring them up.
