Can anybody tell me how much you are saving and when you started?
I can't hope to save for it all but would like to help.

Do you save more or less depending on inflation and interest rates and where do you save?

I am risk averse and have never done stocks and shares savings, but not sure if I'll be able to save enough just by ordinary saving account interest.

Have you saved from birth?

Do you mean saving for your child’s university?

I’m sure others won’t agree, but we don’t save anything. Nothing has to be paid up front and loans / bursary’s are valuable for living expenses, plus DC can get a PT job.

We will help them out with a small amount each week and food shops, but haven’t put anything away specifically for this purpose.

Yes, but not the fees.
I know she'll work pt from being 16 and this will help but I was thinking a lump sum for all the things she'll need upfront, like rent maybe?
At least a month up front, and other living costs until she is on her feet.
I haven't put anything away as yet, and have 4/5 years to save.
