I am on income based jobseekers,it is based on national insurance contributions and is only payable for up to 6 months. I have a DP who works full time. am I allowed to claim for free prescreptions, dental charges and to register on courses? I am confused as rang jobseekers helpline and they managed to waffle on and not tell me yes or no!!

anyone know?

Okay, well I think unless you are on a low income you won't be able to get free prescriptions etc

check entitledto.co.uk/ to see if there is anything you can claim

Csn't do links sorry but according to this page you are eligible on income-based JSA.

www.patient.co.uk/showdoc/23069022/

You should get a credit card sized exemption card through the post at some point I think.

But if still not sure, you can apply for exemption using a HC1 form. The site above tells you how to get a form. I would type more info but am feeding bab so only one hand atm!

Oh bums, getting mixed up with income based and contribution based. Sorry.

Still might be worth applying for exemption though with HC1 form and they will tell you whether you're eligible or not.

thanks for all of the advice! Don't worry about the confusion,as I have managed to confused myself about it! I will apply for the form.
