Anybody with them on their prepayment smart meters? I got mine installed last week, since then I’ve topped up £10 twice, and both times had £2.50 taken off the top up. I have no previous debt on the meter what so ever so this makes no sense to me. Obviously they’re not open at this time of night but I have sent a message via Facebook to try & find out what’s going on.

Also have since seen lots of people saying the gas prices are very high. I’m due to have my gas meter changed on 4th December, so I’d be interested in peoples opinions on whether or not I should cancel that. (When I signed up they said the prices matched my previous supplier, but this is apparently what other people were told who are now topping up around £25 per week in gas)

I was with them for about a month it was awful. Spent a fortune even more on the gas. Honestly I would switch back.

JonSnowsWhore · 16/11/2017 12:08

Oh god that’s what a lot of people seem to be saying. How much would you say you were paying per week? I don’t know how they can work out so expensive when they said they’re the same price as I was previously paying

About 30 on gas and 20 on electric

I'm with utilita and spend about 8 a week on the electric and between 4 and 30 a week on the gas. Lower amount during the summer and higher when it's really cold. Spent 16 last week on the gas, heating oly on for about 6 hours in total, set at 18c.
That's for a three bed house which is always quite cold.

JonSnowsWhore · 16/11/2017 20:27

Hmm see I’m in a 2 bed flat. New build as well which is usually fairly warm so if I’m spending anything like that then something will be very wrong

After reading some pretty awful reviews online about this company you should change to a new supplier. I read that if a previous tenant was in debt they take 25% from every top up from the new tenant.

JonSnowsWhore · 20/11/2017 12:36

My old (well current) supplier just called me, they said if I stay with them & change to pay monthly if I’m fed up of gas running out & having to top up at shops, my usage is so low it’ll work out under £20 a month. So she’s going to call me back in the morning to go through the application as I’ve got to get ready for work now, sounds like a better deal than paying utilita prices!
