I talked to them yesterday and they needed some more info when someone else called on Monday but I was wondering how long it all took as DH has left me with nothing, only a few days more food and a few pounds on the electricity.

About 2/3 weeks for IS - a further 1 or 2 weeks for their cheque to clear

about 6 weeks for housing benefit

have you put in an application? You may be able to ask them for a crisis loan. this is a crisis after all!

oh great. Just rung them, and someone else is ringing money, so no forms even done yet

You can get a crisis loan or a loan from the social fund. They want to see empty bank account etc...rent payments due etc.

crisis loan is there somewhere

Surely thats a crisis, when was the last time money went in the bank?
I nearly applied for one when the CSA demanded 180 in 7 days and dps wages were only 140.
The crisis needed to have happened, so the demand letter wasnt good enough, had to be the cheque gone from my bank leaving us with 0.
I didnt in the end. We didnt buy food or petrol or anything that week.
But just that if theres money gone in, or due in with Child Benefit or anything they just say no.
Whens your child benefit due?
And have you got onto tax credits and told them you will be single and on Income Support?

Quootiepie · 14/04/2007 09:41

I presumed who I rung would sort all of it out, unless it's tax credit who are ringing Monday. Child benefit and tax credit went in about a week or so ago, but DH has taken it all.
