Flight delays pilot sick? Compensation?

We were delayed 16 hours on a long haul flight with British Airways due to a sick pilot. They say we’re not entitled to compensation as it was outwith their control and did not have Another pilot available (they did but he needed to sleep before he could fly). This is not seen as extraordinary circumstances. Anyone had successful compensation from similar circumstances.

I’m no expert but I’m pretty sure they should have back up pilots for this kind of situation, and they didn’t, so you will be entitled to compensation.
