Bank balance

Talking about bank accounts this evening, my partner showed me an transaction on her phone and whilst doing this placed her thumb over her balance so I didn’t see ..... I am confused to say the least?

Married? When you join in unison you join everything, till death is do part.

If you are not joined by marriage/civil partnership then you finances are separate but if you intend to join then why would they hide things from you?
