is there an actual date? we seem to get them throughout the year, both me and dh usually get 3 copies each for some reason and often we get a second batch just a week after one lot has arrived.

Overtiredmum · 12/04/2007 19:07

Misdee I got my new tax credit award letter last Thursday - mines gone up a whole £1 a month! Yipppeeeeeeee!

willywonka · 12/04/2007 19:08

I've usually found that it was after they'd overpaid you for months and months - despite being supplied with the correct information at all times - when they realised that you owed them money...

misdee · 12/04/2007 19:13

hmmm i am just hoping they havent overpaid me this time.

Well it is the new tax year so they are probably due any time.

SlightlyMadSlug · 12/04/2007 19:16

Well I have overestimated my earnings by 10% so they bloody better not have overpaid me.

NuttyMuffins · 12/04/2007 19:21

I don't seem to have filled in a form for them for ages, or had any letters.......worried now.

My last payment though had gone up by £6

misdee · 12/04/2007 19:24

mine appears to have gone up by £30 so am hoping the letter arrives soon so i can tell if they are overpaying me.

was wondering about this today, as i have had a letter from the housing benefits, with my rent readjusted to take into consideration, my rise in tax credits!! I have no idea where they got the new tax credit amount from.

anyone have a clue??

chirpygirl · 12/04/2007 19:43

They are due this month as they come out at the same time as teh P60's are sent out.
New tax credit year started April 6th...so should be any day...am desparate to find out if I get maternity grant this time!

zephyrcat · 12/04/2007 19:46

Last time I spoke to them they told me the new start was April 6th. I still haven't had a payment or a letter. Nothing. I needed to change my bank account in Feb but the 'system went wrong' so they paid me by cheque the rest of what they owed me for the year and have had nothing since

chirpygirl · 12/04/2007 19:55

Well, if it makes you all feel any better I work for HMRC, and they still can't tell me anything!

Campagneforlunch · 12/04/2007 21:07

You'll not get a new until they send out the requests for income details and you have returned it, unless you change something between now at then. They stagger the posting of the packs between now and May I think.
The last notice you got will tell you what your payments will be until you return your pack or change something.

MrsWho · 12/04/2007 21:12

They are upgrading their sytems atm why do it the busiest week of their year [rolls eyes]

I earned a lot less last year than I expected to and yet my payment has gone down £20 have phoned up and am awaiting my next 10 letters all with slightly differnt information about my name and how many children I have (and whether dd2 is a boy this year!)

Campagneforlunch · 12/04/2007 21:23

It's not really a busy week for tax credits, things don't get busy till people start getting p60s.
They also have to do it at this time of the year to set the system up for the next tax year, new rates change and such.
Would be surprised if they are still down now though they are usually only down for the first few days.

MrsWho · 12/04/2007 21:29

they were yesterday

zephyrcat · 13/04/2007 12:32

I've managed to get through to someone this morning. The system is back up and running and they were able to tell me what my new payments are, so worth trying again today!

andyrobo237 · 13/04/2007 20:48

When I called them a few weeks ago the guy said ti was May when the new forms for the next year were sent out - I suppose it is related to you getting your P60 from work (if you work!) as that tells you what you earned the previous tax year, as they base it on that.

I told them we had a new baby and they sent me a revised award letter. then I realised there were several minor errors on it, including the fact that i will be getting less money this year (by around £18k as I am on 1 year mat leave) and they managed to recalcuate it as £5 a month less - work that out!!

MrsWho · 13/04/2007 22:22

I was told last year you get the forms in order of how much you get from them.those who claim the most get their forms first.

NeedAnMOT · 13/04/2007 22:24

I'm dreading mine coming! April means tax credits and self assessment to do AARGH!
