left to pay the mortgage

my husband and i split a year and a half ago and from then ive been paying the mortgage myself,i have a son and have been working 30 hours a week but had to change my job and hours to 16 hours a week because i had no one mind my child and the hours i worked were late hours,does he have to pay for have of the mortgage,any advice would be helpful ....

No you can't force him to pay. Well MAYBE you could with a court order, but very very doubtful, and expensive.

Is your son his, and if so Is he paying maintenance?

Have you had any proper legal advice since you split 18 months ago.
Does he pay any maintenance, does he do any childcare.
Very foolish idea to drop to minimum hours with a child and bills to pay.
