Maternity pay HELP

Hi so I think this is the write place to post

I am due to go on Mat leave on the 15th December 17. I will be getting SMP only, my question is what will be my monthly maternity pay? Reason I'm asking is because I have had quite a lot of time off sick since being pregnant (currently off sick) the joys of pregnancy!!

Now am I right in saying I am currently in my qualifying months for my mat pay? (Months being August & September?)

I get paid the last working day of every month, my take home pay in the month of August was £1079 after tax (£1140 before tax) & I think my take home pay for September is going to be £565 plus ssp after tax (£630 before tax plus ssp)

Sorry if this is confusing, I'm just worried I'm not going to meet the SMP and will end up getting less!!

I understand I should get around £630 a month smp as my weekly wage is greater than the minimum, but will me being off sick in these months affect that with the figures I have provided?

Any help and advice appreciated...

It is your due date that affects your qualifying period, not the date you start maternity leave.

This calculator here will give you all the figures you need. www.gov.uk/maternity-paternity-calculator

If you use the link above, it checks your eligibility by confirming your start date and that you will be continuing. You just need to put all the information in and it will calculate the exact amount you will be paid each month.
