CHAPS payments

I need to make a CHAPS payment to a bank. My Bank (HBOS) say i need the postal address of the bank account it's going to. The customer care centre of the bank it's going to keep giving me an address of their office in Edinburgh. I'm going round in circles here. The statements of the bank the money is going to just have the branch name, and a customer service address in Glasgow.
Does anyone know if i need the whole address, will the sort code and account number not suffice?

They need the postal address as they will send a reciept to let the company know where/who the money has come from.

Ok, so how do i get the postal address? it's not on any statements, I can't seem to find it online and if i phone the customer services they keep directing me to a head office in Edinburgh
