Car Insurance - Auto Renewed without price??

Hi,

I had a text message from my car insurance provider saying thanks for renewing and giving me the claims phone number etc. Thought nothing of it until today when I checked my bank balance and it has doubled! I have checked through my emails/text messages and have had nothing through with a new price on. I haven't managed to speak to them yet but wondered if anyone had been through something similar?

You can cancel upto 14 days after the policy started. Auto renew is such a pain, I just keep an eye out myself so that I'm can switch if need be.

My home insurance is due for renewal but they did send me the documents in the post today. It has doubled in price so I have cancelled.

I think most policy's today are auto renew. So wrong!

Get an alternative quote on confused.com or other comparison website, ring your existing insurer and ask to pricematch. We did it with admiral a couple of years ago, they even thrown in enhanced personal accident cover for us to stay. Most insurers will cut their auto renew price to keep your business

As above, you have a 14 days cooling off period. Spend 15 mins on a comparison site and I'm sure you'll be able to find something cheaper.
