Home insurance premium after burglary claim

Just wondering if anyone can answer my query...
How much does home insurance premiums go up after a burglary claim? Anyone can any experience of this ?

No one can give you an amount as insurance depends on lots of different factors. It will go up considerably as once you have been burgled you are more likely to be burgled again (don't want to scare you but it is true if statistics are to be believed).

Different companies will treat it in different ways, so all the more reason to shop around.

Delilah- Well that is reassuring...not!
To be honest I have heard the opposite. Apparently that used to be the case but according to the police that is not tru now.

We got burgled early 2010 and made a claim for about £2500 contents and maybe a little on the buildings too for replacing the double glazing unit, we didn't really notice our premiums going up very much when it came to renewals. I don't think we were really in a very high risk area though. We got a burglar alarm after but it wasn't the type that gives you a discount on your premium (not connected to police or anything)
