Shared ownership mortgages?

Ok so following from the other thread, our mortgage company doesn't deal with shared ownership soooo we will have to go with someone else hence nearly 4K in penalty

My question is (and hopefully someone will know).. My dh had some credit probs from 3/4 yrs ago we managed to get a mortgage for the house we are in now for 74K, i personally can't see a prob why we can't get a mortgage for 60K (what we need for the house we want to buy) but it is shared ownership so what does everyone think? there shoudln't be a prob should there? (really hope not!)

Or has anyone on here purchased a shared ownership themselves?

TIA

im i na shared ownership and we had a brill financial advisor who found a mortgage company who were willing to bend the rules for us (we should have only been able to borrow £34k but we got £44k) i think you just have to find the right company, you go into all detail about stuff anyway so bad credit in the past should not effect it!

There are only few mortgage companys that deal with S/O. If you have a low credit score then Prefferd Mortgage Company will do it. I work from home so if you want some more info send me an email [email protected]. make sure you mention munsnet.
