Term time contract - but paid today

I wonder if anyone can help - will call the council at 9am but am curious now!

I worked in a school last year - temporary contract so term time only payment was what I was told. I live in Scotland, and our last day was the 30th June.

I have been paid a full month's pay today.

Have I understood my contract wrong? I am not going back after the holidays, if that makes a difference.

Maybe they take the years wage and split it in 12?

You need to dig out your contract

I think many places do as the pp said above- divide your annual wage by 12 to give you a monthly paycheck. This is to help people budget on what is often quite a low wage.

As I understood it, that is the case for permanent members of staff but not temporary. I was told from other people doing my job (although we did not compare actual numbers) that those of them on a permanent contract earned less per month than I did but I wouldn't get paid in the holidays.

I will just need to call and clarify. It's our ten yr wedding anniversary this Dec so if it's mine to keep I'm going to book a break away for us as a surprise!
