Sure Start Maternity grant

Am I Likely to be Eligible. I had my lo 9 weeks ago and recieve the child element child tax credits and get £206ish a month. My pay last year was £15140 and i work fulltime. This year my pay will be £11000 due to mat leave. Ive sent off application, just waiting to hear back. Im not satisfied ill be eligible tho.

I claimed 2 weeks ago, claimed tax credits and first baby. I got a letter last wednesday saying they had decided I was entitled to a payment of £500 and it will be in my account by the 20th. And it was :) go for it! Get your HV to sign it.

Your earnings dont apply here, aslong as its your first baby and you are claiming certain benefits. I think you will get it.

Hi thankyou for replying. Ive sent it off and got a message on Thursday saying they had receieved my application and will have a letter within 10 days. How long did yours take after the text? Thanks again 😀

Probably about 6 working days later I got a text saying they had made a decision, two days later got the letter and it was in my bank the next day :)

Fingers crossed. I didnt even know about it until my friend told me. Worth a try

Me either, someone my husband works with told us and we had a week left to claim! Luckily the HV was coming for DD three month review!

Thank you. Heres to hoping. Ive just spent a small fortune on buying every brand of bottle to get my breastfed baby to accept expressed milk so will help haha
