Working with carers allowance?

Hi, does anyone know the rules about working with carers allowance? I know you can earn £116 a week after tax but does anyone know what happens if that figure goes slightly over some weeks? Do I have to declare week by week how much I've made? what about if I get paid monthly? I'm trying to look for work but a job I've been offered at 10 hours a week is just over that amount pre tax but there is the option of more hours and overtime/varying rate for weekend/night work.

2 options

  1. call CA and explain. you will be classed as an irregular earner and you will have to provide payslips every 3-4 months. They look into it and pay you CA retrospectively for those weeks in which you earned below the threshold.

2 (this is the better option imo): just join the pension scheme and pay into a private pension. CA deduct 50% of your pension contributions from your gross pay to calculate your earning. If you are just a bit above, just join or increase your pension contribution to get you ever month under the earnings threshold.
