One week before the end of term...

...and she's lost her PE kit

She had to do it in her pants today. She's got PE again on Monday - anywhere I can buy a cheap PE kit over the weekend? Seems silly for a new PE kit for one lesson

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. She didn't actually have to worry, as she hasn't got PE all this week! So panic over

Are you going to clarify whether your 12/13 actually was told to do PE in her underwear?

AngeloftheSouth84 · 17/07/2017 23:45

Well, perhaps I shouldn't as I wasn't really looking for advice on that issue

But it's a bigger issue that your young teen daughter was potentially made to do pe in her underwear. Can you not see that?

It's really weird that you're more bothered about her lost PE kit than her having to parade around in her underwear at school.

I remember someone been made to do PE in pants about 15 years ago and it was still Hmm then. you need to something about it.

Similar happened to my DS losing his kit. His school had just introduced a new (much more expensive branded) kit and I just wrote a letter to them saying he'd be in his regular shorts & top as it was too near the end of term to replace.

They were fine wth that tho tbf they may have just recognised they were on a hiding to nothing if they objected. They wouldn't have dared suggesting he do PE in his pants, not at that age & definitely not to me.

Uniforms are handy but not essential to learning and definitely not for exercise, any comfy shorts & top would be fine.

How bizarre. I don't know any child in secondary school willing to do PE in pants....we mean UK pants right, as in knickers?? Would you go to the gym wearing just your knickers?

AngeloftheSouth84 · 18/07/2017 18:37

Yes, I meant pants as in knickers. But that's not what I was asking about!

I guess the OP'a daughter's school has specific uniform shorts that couldn't be bought just before the end of term, so as wantesnauggetuons on the best value alternatives. I'm sure she would have been able to find SOME shorts on her own.

As to her daughter having to do the lesson in her knickers, this is certainly rare these days. I assume she wore her school top or similar?

That bizarre word should have read "wanted suggestions"!
