My doTERRA friend (I knew I was getting something wrong and it wasn't the spelling but the CAPS) is being congratulated excitedly by lots of her other friends. Woohoo, you've earned it! Etc. But she hasn't GOT the sodding trip, she's just having a carrot dangled.

Her photo shows the corporate postcard they sent her with strategically positioned marketing materials covering the crucial bits about her progress, but it looks like she has 50 of some sort of "points" and needs 125 to actually go.

BSintolerant · 08/07/2017 01:19

Bots: if you're looking for sympathy you'll find it in the dictionary between shit and syphillis.

Really! You've got to wonder what goes on in some bots' minds. If they choose to use Facebook and other online media to post vulgar, shallow shite and narcissistic drivel is it any wonder that people criticise them and take the piss? And no, criticising narcisstic behaviour and dodgy so-called businesses isn't bullying.

If any bots out there are worried that someone will hold up a mirror to their behaviour the remedy is simple: don't share your lives with the world and his wife (or wives if you're viewing this in Utah or parts of the UAE) on social media.

There's an art to attraction marketing. Most bots, despite endless brainwashing (in the guise of training) haven't got a clue how its done. I'm glad they're making a mess of it though - it's a psychologist's dream and comedy gold all rolled into one.

Guess whose back?.....Back again....

BethanyBarleywater · 08/07/2017 06:58

Can someone let me know who Brow Bot is please? I thought I had them all!

Workingwithnewchimps · 08/07/2017 07:16

Yep me too! Please share we need them all - so that we can stalk and cyber bully them!

Workingwithnewchimps · 08/07/2017 07:18

My friend has just joined one (not sure on name). I feel bad for her to be suckered into it all, she is pregnant with hardly any money. However, so far, she's tried to sell me £29 for 'magic mud' plus £3.90 for postage Hmm

Spongebobette · 08/07/2017 09:25

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I knew that I uberbot would come up smelling of roses. All her drones are posting about how brace and wonderful she is

I followed these threads when they first started and then missed a few weeks and fell too far behind! Is there a mlm selling coffee? A friend of mine has just started posting vaguely and I'm suspicious. Hopefully she won't get sucked in too far, but I suspect she's a serial mlm-er who doesn't do too well and keeps moving on rather than do the sensible thing and give up.

Spongebobette · 08/07/2017 09:37

Oh and if she reads this:

No one hates you for the life you've created, no one is remotely jealous of you and rather humdrum taste in home decor.

I, for one, have a successful career and do not envy you in the slightest. You have my pity because you have to share so much of your life in order to convince others to join your business. I do not believe that you do this to 'help others', that is totally disingenuous. You need a constant flow of new recruits.

You are exploiting your family and I think you should think carefully about how to protect your daughter.

We just hate MLMs and the way they exploit women and you are one example of the way in which vulnerable women are persuaded to part with money.

Cynic Who's - whose, when you made Captain in the grammar police - not one F**K was given!

I do not post on here to justify my own existence, what an odd thing to say.

I post on here to draw attention to the dangers of MLMs and the way in which some adherents attract new recruits through showing off in a rather crass way and implying that if you join them you can have what they have.

A quick look at average earnings in an MLM would disabuse potential recruits ( although Forever Living won't publish one, other MLMs do and they are very revealing)

I don't know what a 'melt' is but I suspect it is not a compliment

If anyone were to use these threads as an educational tool and analysed the comments they might well see that posts were critical and directed at particular individuals, yes. However I maintain that the overarching aim of this series of threads has always been to throw light onto the murky world of MLMs and in particular on the people who made a living from attracting others to sign up.

I would be proud if my children were to read these threads in years to come and knew that I had had some small role to play in exposing MLMs.

Spongebobette · 08/07/2017 10:22

Forgot to say; those individuals present themselves as an embodiment of their particular MLM. They 'are' the product. So to a certain extent they have waived their right to privacy and have opened themselves up to criticism

I didn't post on the thread about the guest missing the wedding due to not being able to do her hair, but I did read some of it.

The majority of the people on the thread actually had no idea who the thread was about. They were just replying to what they thought was a genuine thread and saying 'what a horrible thing to do'.
