my dh has inherited some money and we've received the chq in euros from a spanish bank.
How much will the spanish bank take when they honour it do you think? the uk banks we've spoken to so they can take what they like!
any advice?

ask the bank to electronically transfer the cash instead of using a cheque. they'll need your bank details. to do it from this end to abroad is about £20, not sure the other way, depends on the bank.

we did ask and this spanish legal woman said they couldn't (I think she meant couldn't be bothered) and it's another opportunity for us to get fleeced some more!
But thanks for your help.
I'm going through Barclays international who at least cap their fee at £40.
