Child Maintenance Avoidance

Hello, just wondering if anyone else has been in my situation. My ex husband is a self employed plumber and is claiming he only earns £10,000 a year to avoid paying maintenance. When I know he earns £30k plus! I can't afford a private detective to prove otherwise. Any ideas? Thanks

HMRC? Tax avoidance? They might care more than CMS do, unfortunately. Get your MP involved, that sometimes helps to get the case taken more seriously.

I already have emailed HMRC but I'm not sure what they can do other than follow him, but he's just small fry compared to cases they see.

Hmrc don't do anything ime.

how do you know how much he earns? Unless you can show them the money there's no way to get the correct child maintenance.

I know this as ex did this and claimed he earned nothing for years even tho he managed to live in a massive house and buy flashy cars etc.

CMS don't do much chasing ime, if the NRP is working off the grid they just go with what the NRP says or what HMRC have on record.
