hello all,
recently had two absolutely HORRENDOUS flights with Ryanair, in fact the return flight never transpired leaving me and 3yr old ds, literally stranded in france for TWO days. In the end had to fly home with BA at great expense......however now's the time to seek compensation and as Ryanair has no customer service number....WTF??!!! you have to write with your complaint to their head office in Dublin. Their so called "customer charter" promises to respond within seven days. Now FOUR weeks after i wrote.....in triplicate!!!!and when i rang their head office they said "your letter must have been lost in the post".......all THREE of them???!!! Have also faxed and guess what...still no reply. Any ideas?
thanks. billiejo.

Whatever you do, don't phone them to complain !! Costs you £1 per minute and they are hopeless ~(sorry if I offend anyone). Good luck and let us know how you get on.

recorded delivery letter
I'm sick of Ryan air too. particularily all the charming new charges they've brought in.

AlanasMum · 19/03/2007 22:56

actually its called international signed not Recorded delivery any way your post office will tell you. doesn't cost too much more certainly compared to pound a minute phone lines

Twinklemegan · 19/03/2007 23:11

I'm not sure there's any way to be sure of getting a response out of any of these large companies. Maybe threaten to sue them? Or get on Watchdog?!

billiejo · 19/03/2007 23:14

thanks everyone, think i'll go down the recorded delivery route, at least i'll know they def recieved it then it mens they are contravening their passenger charter....only thing is, it means more expense

TBH Michael O Leary cares not a notch for complaints.

StyleCouncil · 19/03/2007 23:18

Billiejo if its cheaper for you - I will gladly send on a letter registered post for you from Ireland - costs ?5 if sent in ROI>

wotzsaname · 19/03/2007 23:18

They will then say you only had 28 days from return to make your complaint in writing. Otherwise it is not valid.

Travel insurance?

billiejo · 20/03/2007 10:33

that's very kind of you stylecouncil, i've phoned their head office this morning and after spouting various legal things, reluctantly got given "customer service" managers' name and fax number.......we shall see.......

You are certainly not the only one to have suffered like this. Typical Ryanair behaviour I am sorry to say. They give other low cost carriers a bad name. They are more than happy to leave you stranded if you can't get back to Britain from your destination if the flight is cancelled.

You'll be fortunate to get any money back off them at all frankly. They are bound to have some sort of get out clause meaning that they won't have to pay up.

What was the reason for the cancellation?.

If you look at www.travelquality.com there is a comments page about Ryanair in the airlines section. Some pax have pursued Ryanair for compensation and it may interest you to see what they did.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 20/03/2007 16:23

Oh silly me, its www.airlinequality.com.

thanks again everyone for your help, much appreciated. FYI, in case anyone else needs to get in contact with them for similar s**t service, the number you call is their office number not an 08.... cutomer service number, when asked by the automated voice to key in the extension number, just stay quiet, that way you get through to reception which clearly pisses them off!!!
