To be honest I don't track individual bets anymore. I just make sure each qualifying bet is done for a reason and the loss will be more than covered by the freebie.

Now I list bookies and exchanges, the balance at each, and how much i deposit and withdraw from each. I sum each column and profit just equals sum of balance column plus sum of withdrawn minus sum of deposit column. (Included in the balance at exchange is my liability and potential profit too.)

Total it all up at the end of each day. Have one day a week where nothing is pending (if possible!)

I use the Ultimatcher spreadsheet which keeps track of everything. I'm not that tech savvy either and I can keep up with it!

My EW bet came to a small loss in the end Hmm. I think the problem with these reload offers is that there's a small element of risk which is removed by doing loads of them. You'll always come out on top in the end but when you look at them individually then they don't look like a very sure bet.

MrsWombat · 02/07/2017 14:08

I've been really bad with the recording, so I've just made a really easy spreadsheet starting from yesterday as the first of the month. Each column is the type of bet (Bet X Get X Free, Horse Refunds, Mug, etc) and I put my position from each bet in the column I'm going to do one for this month and see if it's easier.

E.G this is one of my columns so far. The -.0.77 is the qualifying bet which made a small loss, and the £8.40 is what I received from the free bet. £7.63 is the total profit from the column which I used a function sum to calculate. I have another line which adds up the sums from all the columns. Basically I list all my "positions" figures from the calculator on PA and leave out the odds and other details. The next offer will be listed underneath.

Bet X Get X Offers
£7.63 (This is the sum of the column)

-£0.77
£8.40

Hi, can I join you all?
I've recently started Matched betting, and am working my way through the welcome offers available.
I've joined oddsmonkey, and downloaded a spreadsheet from Team Profit to keep track of everything. I'm nearly done with the Bet X Get Y welcome offers, and have started to get a few existing customer offers coming through on email.
I'm sure I'll have loads of questions, and I'm not sure how long I'll continue, but it's a fairly quiet time at work atm so I don't need to spend my evenings working and this seems like something I can do to earn a little extra.

MissFitton · 02/07/2017 19:50

Hi Awesome. When the football season starts again I'm going to bash on through the rest of the welcome offers (I'm with Profit Accumulator) and try and get organised with the reloads.

I have a little time at lunch time to do stuff and then time in the evenings. My dcs are at their dads EOW too which will give me some time at the weekends. Hopefully I can make a dent in my mortgage!

MsAwesomeDragon · 02/07/2017 21:23

Making a dent in the mortgage is a great goal MissFitton, I'm attempting to save for dd going to university in just over a year. I don't have a massive amount of time to spend on this so I won't be making huge profits, but every little helps doesn't it?

How long have you been matched betting? Have you made much? I only signed up 2 weeks ago, but have made about £200 already, following the team profit "start with £100" plan, but I started with a bit more than that so I've been moving a bit quicker through their plan. I also won £100 on a casino bonus, which was an added extra that I hadn't expected.

Yesterday I did the Coral and Sunbets offers where you bet on the chile v Germany game and get free bets to use in play on the same game. However when I went to place my in-play bets there were no matches at all on the oddsmatcher. I didn't feel confident enough to pick my own lay bet, didn't know how to work out how much profit I would make, so ended up just placing the bets without laying them and ended up just making £2. Oh well it's not a loss I suppose.

Does anyone else get this with the oddsmatcher where it doesn't come up with any matches? Is the profit accumulator matcher better than oddsmonkey?

HeyRoly · 03/07/2017 10:44

The Oddsmatcher doesn't cover in play bets, so you need to find a match yourself and run the odds through the Oddsmonkey calculator.

It's a bit of a faff, especially as the odds change so quickly. But it's definitely possible - although I tend to accept that the profits will be lower than pre-match free bets.

LemonadeWithACherry · 03/07/2017 11:08

Aah thank you HeyRoly that explains it then!

HeyRoly · 03/07/2017 11:16

Ladbrokes have a risk free £10 bet on Andy Murray today. The only problem is it's on the Set 1 Correct Score market which is a bit obscure. There were no lay odds available on Betfair at all earlier, but as time is ticking on and money's coming in the odds are starting to appear. The back bet needs to be placed before the match starts at 1pm.

MissFitton · 03/07/2017 21:18

Hello. First rule of Mondays - opt in to Coral!

Awesome - to answer your questions, I started MBing in April and have so far made just shy of £600. I'm about a third of the way through the start up offers and currently haven't tried anything with casinos or bingo. I don't have that much time to do it but happy to tootle along, building up my bank as I get my head around how to do the different offers!

I'd love to be able to clear 1k a month however anything really is a bonus!

AloeAloe · 03/07/2017 22:02

Do you think Coral is worth doing? The losses on £25 bets and then making a portion of the £5 freebie. Does it work? Is it a good thing to do to avoid being gubbed?

HeyRoly · 03/07/2017 22:55

Aloe - If you bide your time when placing your qualifying bet, you can minimise your losses. I made a 25p loss on my £25 qualifying bet last week, but it involved many days of checking the Oddmatcher and rejecting anything with bigger losses.

I know the profit from a £5 bet is small, but it's still a guaranteed weekly profit Smile

HeyRoly · 04/07/2017 14:34

I have a (possibly silly question). Can anyone explain what happens when you turn your mobile to landscape mode in Betfair?

Sorry I hope it's okay if I join (again). I dabbled in matched betting a couple of months ago but had had a lot on since so I fell out of doing it.

Looking forward to starting again though. I've opened a new bank account solely for MB money, which I think will help with keeping organised.

Just need to build up a float as I would like to start with a decent amount for more flexibility etc. What's a good amount to start with? Would £500 be substantial? Last time I only had a small amount to practice with but I'm ready to start properly now.

Sorry for the newb question, been doing so much reading on this over the past few months but I still feel there's a lot to learn.

HeyRoly · 04/07/2017 15:22

I'm pretty sure I had around £150 as a float when I first started, so £500 is plenty.

DeleteOrDecay · 04/07/2017 15:39

Thanks, will be reading the thread with interest!

HeyRoly · 05/07/2017 09:14

Why is this thread so quiet? Where have all the knowledgeable people gone? All the people sharing offers so I don't have to scour the Oddsmonkey forums? Maidofstars, etc? Sad

I was hoping to get my head around laying each way bets yesterday, but the Oddsmonkey tutorial left me with several unanswered questions. Anyone well versed in them?

GardeningWithDynamite · 05/07/2017 09:36

I think it is quiet around this time though - I'm just trying to do the bet clubs (sky, coral, paddy power). I really need to get going again

MissFitton · 05/07/2017 11:38

I'm still here Roly but not much going on. Made £30 yesterday on free bets but appeared to lose a tenner on a Ladbrokes offer I then couldn't find a reference to to see how I'd messed it up Hmm

I'm just waiting for the football season to get going really!

GrimDamnFanjo · 05/07/2017 17:29

I'm only doing the bet clubs at the mo. I tried a couple of PP tennis 2up one of which won but it was a bit tedious, I'm practicing for the football season really .

Sidehustler · 06/07/2017 13:50

Hello all!
I've been watchibg this thread for a month or so, I came across is whilst researching matched betting.
I finally started up on Tuesday, joined odds monkey and I am on my second bet (betfred) I am still waiting for the free bets to come through on there (it's only been 24 hours), I made £15.70 profit from the coral bet which was nice and have a good amount in betfair for when my free bets are credited on betfred.
How long did you's wait for the free bets?

LemonadeWithACherry · 06/07/2017 13:59

Hello sidehustler!

It all depends really. Some are credited immediately, some when the qualifying bet settles, some within 24 hours, some a couple of days and one I had to email customer services for.

I keep a list of all my due free bets and go through it checking if they've come through, then I cross them off when I've used them.

I've made about £30 today just plodding through the welcome offers. I've reached the less straightforward ones now where you have to wager so many times etc.

Sidehustler · 06/07/2017 14:05

Afternoon lemonade!
The qualifying bet with betfred has settled, just a waiting game now. I don't want to put anymore of my own money into it so I'm happy to go slowly.
Never did I ever think I'd be waiting for the football season to start! I think I'm grasping it now I had a very anxious couple of mornings, I must have rechecked everything a hundred times before submitting the bets but so far so good.
How long have you been doing this for? And how much time do you spend on it?
