Mortgage completion timeline

Mortgage has been offered and besides fulfilling a final condition we are on verge of initiating the next stage. Contract has been signed from our end, seller has no chain and property is vacant, deposit already paid as well.

Can anyone roughly advise how long it takes from this point to getting the keys?

Ask solicitor what else needs to be done - searches , fixtures and fittings etc.

And unless you want to make life really difficult, ask for a week at least between exchange and completion. This gives you time to set up post redirect, removals and utilities after exchange.

If property is vacant , think about completing on a day that isn't a friday. If you are in a rental, make that a definite.

Thanks, some great tips there.
