Ok I hope I'm posting in the right place...
A few years ago myself and DH had phone contracts and cancelled them all fine ( so we thought), we also cancelled the Barclays account that we had the DD coming out off.
We received a letter a few weeks ago to my parents address as we had moved house in that time informing us from a collection agency that we owed money as our Barclays account had gone into an unauthorised overdraft due to the phone DD coming out ( the phone company have admitted they took this DD in error).
So the phone company were happy as they had been paid so we are no in debt with them, however Barclays have apparently been trying to contact us all this time to obtain the funds, and as they couldn't contact us have basically sold out debt to this agency.
We phones Barclays informing that the address they had on file was actually our old address however it's a close family members house ( we were renting) and he forwarded on all letters to us and not once of these was a letter from Barclays. We also spoke and Barclays could confirm on the records that we closed down all accounts with them, however an Error by them meant that this account stayed open. They have admitted fault and we have now received confirmation that this debt has been cancelled with the collection agency it was sold to and with Barclays and all accounts are now closed.
My question is will this stay on our records, is this a CCJ?
When I've been on clearscore to check my credit it says I have no court/insolvency
Sorry or the long post, just wanted to get everything on it
