Contract Ending and Maternity Leave Lump Sum Payments

Hi Everyone,

Need advice again....
So my contract is ending in July, and I will be going on Maternity leave then. I get my enhanced MP but, My company say the only option available to me is a lump sum payment, which as it stands will be around 8,200. I know I can claim the tax back, and the student loan payment, but what will happen with NI?

Finances will be very tight for my partner and I esp as I will not have a job to return to.

Do I have to take the lump sum? As they tell me they are not prepared to pay me in instalments. Or is there a way they can pay me to lesser the blow?

Thanks
