Wills and paying for extras

My husband and I finally got round to making our will last week. We had a chap come to the house and expected to pay £100. When he arrived he was very nice but he stayed for aaaages and eventually stung us for monthly payments totalling over £2k. These cover the cost of writing the will, storing it, updating as many times as we want, and any legal costs when we die.

He obviously made it sound like a brilliant deal but now I am thinking it can't possibly be value for money. It seems like a rubbish deal and I want to pull out. My husband isn't so sure and wants to think about it.

Wondered if anyone else had a similar experience?

Wow, that really is extortionate and I would be trying to cancel the agreement. Storing the will is free. Do you know what legal costs it covers if you die.
I have only this week signed my own will. I had a visit to the solicitor to give her my wishes, I had a lot of questions and was in quite a while. Went back in to sign it. Received it along with the bill for £100 & vat, exactly what I was quoted.

Meant to say also, there is a legal section you may get a good response in

Mumblechum did mine for something like £125. My sister had hers and her husband's Wills written by a solicitor for £250.
