Wow, Wow, Wow! FactProviders that video is superb. How fascinating that they have come to exactly the same conclusions as we have regarding this insidious company.
The rep for the company, FLP Director Mr Boots' comments were very illuminating...
When asked about FLP's lack of financial transparency "Why are you not a little more transparent?"
His response was "We do not publish financial reports, we are a family enterprise so those reports are not mandatory."
Questioner: "But you could still do it, right?"
Mr Boots: "Yes, we are still learning. And actually it is so easy for me to drum up all these numbers because that we've been working on this already. We will publish it all soon on our website."
He goes on to say "Back to the misunderstanding that almost no-one makes any money from their FLP activity. In the Netherlands a glorious 100 families make a generous full time income in FLP.
Questioner interrupts to clarify his previous comments "Before you said 1 in 7 now you say 100 families make more than 1000 euros monthly?"
Mr Boots replies "er, yes. And then 6 out of 7 make some side income ranging from tens to hundreds of euros."
A little later the questioner asks "But you also have real top earners?"
Mr Boots replies "That depends on our definition."
Questioner: "Well, maybe 5000 euros a month. How many people make that?"
Mr Boots: "Well, that I do not know exactly. I do know how many make 10,000 euros. That is currently more than 12 people in the Netherlands."
Questioner: "Are you too a top seller?"
Mr Boots: "No, I am a director of FLP."
Questioner: "You do not sell any products at all, not even to your own friends and family?"
Mr Boots admits that yes he does sell a bit, for fun.
Questioner "Do you explicitly promise you will publish all these numbers?
Mr Boots replies " We will reach an agreement on that, yes."
They then turn to the health claims of FLP reps.
Questioner: "We just heard one of your people tell a beautiful story about a woman with MS. 50% of her symptoms magically vanished, after she started using FLP products.
Mr Boots: "Yes, that was terrible and very painful to watch. Because our company makes an immense effort to prevent this from happening. Because such health claims are absolutely unacceptable."
Questioner: "Which concrete efforts do you make?"
Mr Boots: "We have all sorts of events, including days intended for educating our people... terms and conditions...these are bullet proof. They explicitly forbid these claims."
Questioner: "I do not doubt those rules exist, even if only to shield FLP from any liability but, if they are all independent sales people, the incentive to sell is quite substantial, and if there is a lack over oversight, such violations are simply inevitable."
Mr boots: "There is no lack of oversight, the people in our network keep an eye on each other. The efforts of our organisation have caused a behavioural transition among our people. Many of these independent sellers know realise that these health claims are dangerous even when nobody is watching them And those report back to us if they witness any wrongdoings within the organisation. In addition we have all sorts of monitoring software that scans social media so that we can see what people say about our products, and which pitches they use."
Questioner (I love her!) "But those are not private conversations."
The interview continues, to talk about the impact on personal relationships.
Then Claudia Gross, Professor of Business, makes an observation "I look forward to receiving the numbers referenced here today, I am particularly interested to see how the numbers were made up, because 100 families, 1 out of 7 that all sounds great but I fear that you left out many of the people trying to become successful at FLP ."
She ends by asking Mr Boots to just put the numbers on their website so that everyone has access to them and no one needs to make phone calls.
Would love to watch an updated programme, after Mr Boots gives FLP figures of Ms Gross to forensically scrutinise.
