As the last thread is almost full, here is a nice fresh clean one.

In a nutshell, matched betting is a clever way of making ££££ from the bookies without ever having to gamble.

I've been lurking for a couple of days but finally signed up yesterday... so far I have done my QB with Coral and Betfred and lay them with Betfair. I have the free £ from both. I didn't have much in the way of available funds to put into Betfair (only deposited £10) and the minimum with Coral and Betfred. Each of my 'back' bets won so I have only a couple of £ in Betfair and am -3p overall. So my questions are

I have available funds tomorrow and can afford £150/200 - should I sign up to Smarkets as well and deposit money between both?

I haven't signed up to any other free offers as I wondered whether it is better to play Coral and Betfred first (I assume i don't play the profit in each only the free £) or do I sign up to a couple more?

Recommendations for a spreadsheet. I've looked at the ones offered on Oddsmonkey but I am Confused I thought I could do spreadsheets

I am wary of being 'found out' how soon should I make a 'mug' bet and assuming I still 'lay' it what am I looking for as a good 'mug' bet. I've stuck to football matches on my previous two bets if that makes a difference.

I read somewhere that you need to be careful of placing a 'back' bet with a bookie when 'laying' it with an exchange who are owned/linked to the bookie. Is there a list anywhere?

Thanks for any answers to the above Grin

TessTube · 27/04/2017 10:07

I did that too, I think a lot of us have gone for too low odds on betfred!

It's a learning curve though and I've not done it again.

I would probably stick with one exchange for a short while as otherwise if you've a small pot you'll have to wait to withdraw and put all in one exchange for some bets.

If you work through the offers in order there is one for Smarkets about 5/6 down they give a free tenner for the first tenner lost.

I've just got smarkets and betfair at the moment the matchbook offer is on my list to do.

louisejxxx · 27/04/2017 10:17

Yayyyy my betfred free £30 bets have come through so I've just withdrawn the £22.50 of my own money that was in there as I need to put it back into betfair to cover my liability for the free bet. I'm hoping it'll all happen by tonight so I can use my free bet on Manu v Man City but I think that's probably wishful thinking Grin

louisejxxx · 27/04/2017 12:01

Another update: I've subbed myself the money until it comes through from betfred so that I could put my free bet on the football tonight. Profit should be £20ish from that....then I'm going to withdraw enough to cover my oddsmonkey subscription so that I can really get cracking.

Anyone using the ultimatcher and up to the unibet risk free? I'm struggling on how to record it. I've put the qualifier bet on and set it as loss at bookies so I now have a free £30 bonus at the bookies, but its showing on the ultimatcher on the bookies tab under cash due - so not sure what I do with that. Confused!

CalmItKermitt · 27/04/2017 13:56

Getting the hang of it now 😄
I have to say it's great fun! I really enjoy the whole process and I find now I'm getting all the excitement of winning without the stress of worrying about losing 😄

MaidOfStars · 27/04/2017 14:00

When you enter the bet, you need to fill in the details in the blue box called "Special bonuses". One of the options on the drop down box is "free bet on lose". You then fill in the details for that free bet.

MaidOfStars · 27/04/2017 14:25

Ok, I am working on my Coral casino bet still. Trying to figure out how it works.

I was given £5 free for the casino. The wagering requirement was 5x the bonus i.e. £25. I need to "complete" this in 10 days to get any winnings.

I am sticking 50p on red on European roulette, over and over. It's boring.

Currently, starting from the free £5, I have £16.50 in my casino pot, so making money overall.

When I click on my balance on the website, there is a little bar for the promotion that is filling up every time I make a bet. This bar represents how much of the £25 wagering requirement I have met.

However, each 50p bet is only ticking off 10p from the wagering requirement. Just tried a couple of £1 bets and 20p is ticking off the bar, so it's definitely using a factor of 5.

I feel this must somehow be linked to the premise of having to bet 5x the bonus but can't grasp the logic. Any thoughts?

MrsOnTheMove · 27/04/2017 14:30

Ahhh... I've realised I've made a rookie error. Grin

I placed my two QB with Coral and Betfred but haven't had the Free £ from Betfred. Whilst placing the information into the TeamProfit spreadsheet I've realised I don't qualify as I didn't meet the T & C's.

So as my QB with Betfred won I have £15+ sat with Betfred and no free £ coming, so do I withdraw it and wait to see if I get anything else or do I use the 'real' money to back a bet and still lay a bet Confused

Choconuts · 27/04/2017 14:36

Maid I'm sure I read somewhere that for roulette only a certain % of your stake counts towards the wagering target as the odds are better I.e 49.5% chance of winning on red/black.

I used mine on slots and ended up with £9.50 which I was pretty happy with.

I wonder how much of my 50p stake will count towards my wagering target if I stick it on a number then.....hang on.

MaidOfStars · 27/04/2017 14:39

Stuck 50p on a number (1 in 37 chance of winning) and it still only ticked 10p off my target.

Back to red.

Choconuts · 27/04/2017 14:39

Mrs you can do either. You won't make any profit if you do another bet but it will make you look like a proper mug bettor.

Or you could just leave the money in your account and hope that they email you another offer. I left my winnings in William hill and they've just sent me a bet £10 get £15 free bets offer via email Smile

Choconuts · 27/04/2017 14:42

From coral website -

Wagering requirements means the amount you will need to bet in order to release your bonus winnings into your Main Cash Balance.

With most bonuses you will not be able to withdraw the bonus itself, the deposit relating to the bonus or the winnings from the bonus until you have completed the wagering requirement.

How do I see how much I have left to wager?

Unfortunately, this is not currently available via our mobile site or app, however this can be viewed on a desktop PC or laptop, as shown below.

To do this, you will firstly need to click on the Cash Balance link at the top of the page.

This will then open the window as displayed below. From this window you can see a full comprehensive breakdown of your Cash Balance, including free bets and bonuses.

For example, if you have a £10 bonus with 50x requirements, you will need to stake a total of £500 for any of your bonus winnings to be transferred to your Main Cash Balance. This will then enable you to withdraw these winnings, should you wish to do so.

Games you play will count towards the wagering requirements of our Casino bonuses. The types of game you play will contribute a different percentage towards the bonus wagering requirement. See below:

For example, if you stake £1 on Slots, £1 will come off your WR (wagering requirement). If you stake £1 on Roulette, 20p will be deducted from your wagering requirement.

If a combination of bets placed in a roulette game covers 67% or more of the board, it will not count towards the bonus wagering requirement.

Please note that players deemed to be adopting a low risk betting strategy to clear wagering will have the bonus and any winnings removed from the account.

MaidOfStars · 27/04/2017 14:42

From Team Profit:

You're always safe with slots as they also contribute 100% of wagers to wager requirements. However, something like roulette sometimes comes with a lower weighted contribution (meaning you have to wager more than the wagering requirements), they display this by saying something similar to the below:

Slots - 100%

Blackjack - 50%

Roulette - 25%

So for every £1 wagered on roulette, only 25% (25p) goes towards your wagering requirements. The reason they do this is because roulette has a far lower house edge of around 2.5% vs the 5% on slots.

With this in mind, it's best to play roulette (low stakes on black or red each time) if the casino bonus allows you 100% wagering contributions on it. Or the safest option is going for slots, if in doubt^

MrsOnTheMove · 27/04/2017 14:44

Thanks Choconuts I'll leave it in and monitor for emails.

OverthinkingSpartacus · 27/04/2017 14:56

@mrsonthemove

I'd withdraw it if you can. I'm not sure if they have a minimum withdrawl amount of £20 though, if they do, you could deposit 10 to take you're balance over £20 and then withdraw the whole amount.

I can't see a benefit to betting and laying again as its not free money it'll be a normal bet and you'll make a loss similar to the qualifying bets. There's no guarantee you will win at the exchange end so would still have to withdraw anyway.

If there's any future existing customers for betfred you can always deposit again if needed.

I've bee clicking in the odds matcher from the odds monkey offer age as it has the required minimum odds for whatever offer already selected, I also do a double check if t and c to make sure they haven't changed.

imnottoofussed · 27/04/2017 14:58

MaidOfStars i've done that and it now shows on the bookies tab as cash due £30. Then I placed another qualifier as i've got to wge 3 times before I can withdraw. So I won at the bookies and have £just over £45 in there, I need to wager 2 more times in order to withdraw. The cash due on the bookie tab still says £30.

I'm not sure how to get the money from there into my profit, will it just happen once I keep wagering the required times?

MaidOfStars · 27/04/2017 15:00

I've just completed the wagering requirements.

I started with a £5 free bet. I turned that into £18.

As soon as I reached the wagering requirements, my casino balance was automatically transferred to my cash balance.

MaidOfStars · 27/04/2017 15:04

I had this with Totesport. The bet was completed ages ago but I still have an entry for cash due, highlighted in yellow, -25 (the value of the free bet). My profit readout for Totesport is correct, so I'm just ignoring it. Is this offer finished for you? If so, and you know how much you've made/lost/where, I would do manual adjustments to your balances to reflect what's happened (if they are reading incorrectly).

He he, this is me.

I guess I better chuck it back as a mug bet....

MrsOnTheMove · 27/04/2017 15:48

@OverthinkingSpartacus

Betfred has allowed me to withdraw the funds. I haven't yet used my free bets with Coral do I need to withdraw the 'real' money from my account (won on the QB) before I place a bet with the 'free' credit?

MrsWombat · 27/04/2017 16:06

I've stupidly managed to get my PP account closed, although they refunded me my original stake and winnings thankfully.

MaidOfStars · 27/04/2017 16:21

How come? Did you lay on Betfair?
