Lets keep monitoring these pesky MLMs, shining a light on their nefarious activities, and supporting bots who realise the truth and need support.

That's the wholesale price as well.

Retail is £165 Shock

(an ex-FL victim has provided Timeless Vie with the details, screenshots etc)

ArbunneHun · 12/04/2017 14:37

You need to buy 2 - one to use yourself, one to use as samples.

So neither to retail...?

Absolute proof that the FBO is the CUSTOMER.

Tupperwarelid · 12/04/2017 14:49

You have to buy the whole set as well, you can't get the products individually

cozietoesie · 12/04/2017 15:03

People better have very accommodating ccs then. Sad

BSintolerant · 12/04/2017 15:10

It's a very good article. Encouraging bots to buy for personal use - "Be your own best customer! You can't get to know about the products unless you buy them yourselves - eeeek!" is another devious way top bots line their own pockets. How much of this stuff ends up in unlawful online raffles, given away as Christmas presents or stuck in garages?

ArbunneHun · 12/04/2017 15:16

How can you sell any skincare at that price without letting people sample it? And if the FBO has to buy the product to use for sampling, they will be burning money.

How anyone can suggest that this is a legitimate business is beyond me.

MrsGotobed · 12/04/2017 15:38

and who would want to try a sample that has already been touted about and tried by numerous other people?

JaniceBattersby · 12/04/2017 16:31

There's no way they're going to sell any at that price. There is a ceiling price for mass market skincare and this is way above that. I guess FL know that though. If they sell two to all their bots then they'll make a fortune anyway. My bot has some. I feel so sorry for her because she really can't afford this shit. I am tempted to borrow her sample though so I can see if it's any good or just basically pound shop tat. I'm guessing the latter. Problem is, if I borrow the sample she'll undoubtedly give me the hard sell and I can't bear it.

moreslackthanslick · 12/04/2017 16:32

£165! I just paid £195 to have 3 areas of Botox done! I'll stick with that and my Nivea!

They seriously take the piss!

ElisavetaFartsonira · 12/04/2017 18:08

Not ploughed through all the threads, so apologies if this has already been answered, but are we familiar with Epoch skincare? Is that MLM-y? I know someone doing it but so far they only seem to want to flog the products, not sign people up... however it is sending some of my spidey senses tingling.

cozietoesie · 12/04/2017 18:12

Isn't Epoch a Nuskin brand?

ArbunneHun · 12/04/2017 19:14

Yes, it's Nu:Skin

Ugh.

ElisavetaFartsonira · 12/04/2017 19:24

Nu-Skin being pyramidy, I see from googling. Are they more at the FL or the Avon end of the spectrum?

ArbunneHun · 12/04/2017 19:46

FL and then some.

cozietoesie · 12/04/2017 20:02

This is the general link to botwatchblog. Scroll down to the section on specific MLMs and you'll find more information on Nuskin. (I'd say 'Happy Reading' but I fear it isn't very happy at all.)

nannynick · 12/04/2017 20:18

"The opportunity to build and manage a team of like –minded Consultants and earn up to 6% commission on your team’s sales."

Is that sounding like a MLM?

Just seen someone on Facebook mention their new business... trying to get people to join their team.

ElisavetaFartsonira · 12/04/2017 21:26

No, it isn't happy reading at all, my bot is someone I don't know well but want the best for.

cozietoesie · 12/04/2017 21:31

That's often the problem - people are anguished. It's a sadness.

Spongebobette · 12/04/2017 23:06

Hold me back. I'm convinced! Where do I send my £165?? (Note the subtle message about not scrimping on skincare which means if you object to paying this much you are a LOSER)

"It is stunning, a very high quality and technologically advanced regime

I will never scrimp on my skincare, it is the coat you wear day in day out for life

Look after it"

DomesticAnarchist · 13/04/2017 11:49

Have you seen today's Timeless Vie post about an actual skincare professional taking down a NuSkin bot amazingly?

First they destroy the galvanic spa face iron thing and concludes with a wide-eyed "but where do you get your public liability insurance?" It's just beautifully done!

DomesticAnarchist · 13/04/2017 11:50

ArbunneHun · 13/04/2017 11:55

Cuts straight to the heart of the issue: on the open retail market these MLM products simply would not compete. The price is too high/claims too unsubstantiated/performance too low. They simply would not sell because they compare so badly with the competition.

The only market is the distributor & their immediate friends family guilt-tripped into supporting them.

Spongebobette · 13/04/2017 12:06

Absolutely brilliant, thanks TV!

Kathysclown · 13/04/2017 12:16

Has anyone bumped into the following MLMs yet? I now have numerous BOTs for each of them, all based in the US, but I think it is only a matter of time before they get to the UK........

  • Beauty Counter - 'good' make up with no 'nasties'....... very tame approach to selling products, and no pushing (yet) to join up.....
  • 'Thrive' - some sort of mysterious, sleep inducing tablets or powders, can't quite work it out, even possibly has a religious element?? All FB posts on it are vague and non-specific about what exactly it is.....
  • Rodan and Fields - skin care (actually quite good, as I got sent a sample, I presume as part of trying to get me onside for whenever they launch in the UK) but hugely expensive, and my now numerous BOTs are massively pushy about recruitment of new people, it's all 'bossbabes', and lots of thanking God for giving them the blessing of their own businesses........

My FB timeline is absolutely swamped by al of these right now.........
