Stolen car

A family member had a car stolen at the weekend. Insurance doesn't cover a curtesy car. I have no experience of how this works, can anyone advise how long it might take to get this all processed so that he can replace it?

I guess it depends on the outcome. The car could be traced/ found within a reasonable length of time. It's probably best for your relative to speak to their insurance company who will advise. If the car isn't recovered then it can take a while for any insurance paymet to come through and even then they never seem to pay enough to get a decent replacement unfortunately.

That's what I thought :-/
