Lloyds / TSB merger question

I have just found an account book for a bank account dh had as a child with TSB. The last entry in it is 1985. Would he have been eligible for a windfall payment upon the merger of Lloyds and TSB?

Not if it was a deposit account.

But take it into a branch and get it updated anyway, you should be entitled to some interest. (Don't get excited - I did this with a post office account and the interest for about 15 years came to less than £1!)
