Hi xx

Was wondering if snyone knew what letting agents can see on a credit check when renting a home? Ive heard its just 'public' info but i have no clue what this means.

Does anyone know what they can see and what score is acceptable. Im not in debt im just worried as it is my first home.

Have you had any credit cards, loans, direct debits etc?

Even simple things like money going into your bank account can improve your score?

If you've repaid everything on time and have a reasonable credit history (in terms of length) I wouldn't worry.

Can a letting agent see my report?

The only things they can see are CCJs and bankruptcies. They can't see details of outstanding debt, payment history, account details etc.

This may change in the future but for now the more detailed information isn't available for a tenant credit check.
