Financing home move

My husband and I own our current property outright which is worth £100k, but we'd like to move house. However, we don't want to sell our current house as it's in a great market for rentals. Ideally we would like to keep this house and buy the other with a new mortgage.

BUT the house we've seen that we want to move to, we're about £50k short for, so I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on the best way, or if it's even possible, to release some funds from the house we own.

I've spoken to our previous mortgage provider, as I thought it would be simple to get a buy to let mortgage on our house to do that, but apparently they don't do it as it's more of a specialist thing and most of the advice I can find online is tailored towards people buying a house to rent.

Any advice anyone could give me on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Google 'let to buy' mortgages (NOT buy to let) and pick one of the brokers that appear in the search results.
