And don't forget that you have to do loads of exercise too after you've eaten your lettuce leaf and aloe gloop.

Just as well they're their own boss cos I'm pretty sure I'd be incapable of working and thinking if I was surviving on that.

It must the "special" water that keeps them going.

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 02/01/2017 17:20

White cars are often the basic version, you need to pay more for a colour usually (unless the dealer has some they need to get rid of to meet targets Wink). In my area, a white 4x4 means you can't drive properly or park within a bay, don't think we have many MLMers though, I've only come across a couple.

Just discovered this thread - have posted about my experience on another thread but had no idea how many of these schemes there are! A really close friend of mine has apparently been sucked into FL - I haven't been on Facebook for yonks or I would probably have realised. Upon telling her about my event miscarriage over Christmas her reply was to start a sales pitch about how if I had been "enlightened" about FL products in the first place it would never have happened and then told I needed to buy X, Y and Z so I would get pregnant again soon and that this time "it would be successful because of all
of the health benefits"
The more I think about
it the more I'm fuming and it drove me to look up more about the company online. I cannot understand how it brainwashes people into thinking behaviour like this is acceptable!
Sorry for the rant!

whyhastherumgone · 02/01/2017 20:53

*recent not event!

cozietoesie · 02/01/2017 21:24

Goodness - no need to be sorry. You have to remember that she's not wholly the person you knew anymore. There may be a little core of the 'old her' somewhere inside so - if you had a strong friendship which you want to continue some day - that's the bit you have to remember.

whyhastherumgone · 02/01/2017 21:26

Thanks cozie I'm so shocked at how much she's changed - it's only been a few months since I saw her as she's been busy and cancelled a lot of plans - I suppose this is down to the 'new business'.
Having a read through the threads now - really an eye opener!

cozietoesie · 02/01/2017 21:33

You could also have a read of botwatchblog. In their 'Directory of MLM information', you'll find some links which may be of interest to you. They may not enable you to 'help her' - she might be too far in - but they can at least give you some background for any future relationship.

acatcalledjohn · 02/01/2017 21:35

Hi rum, I did see you on the other thread. I feel so angry on your behalf for her blaming your MC on you by proxy. I'm so sorry you had a MC and that you encountered such a shit of a person trying to exploit you during what I sure is a shit time. If I were you I would be going apeshit. I would ask her if she's blaming you for the MC, and I'd be watching her squirm. Then make her squirm more.

But then I can be quite cruel. My FL bot tried once, got the full force of me, and has not dared try again. She's still a friend, be it somewhat more distant. And that's fine with me.

acatcalledjohn · 02/01/2017 21:37

(As you can tell I'm not necessarily as gentle with bots as others are, as in my experience any info you give them will be used against you as a hater. That's probably why I have taken the approach of taking no prisoners when it comes to MLM, as in my eyes I have nothing to lose.)

whyhastherumgone · 02/01/2017 21:39

Thanks acat I was just so shocked at the time I didn't say much which I really regret. If she tries it again though I think she will get the full force of my rage too. The more I think about it the more livid I get - it was my first pregnancy and although I'm dealing with the miscarriage well and trying to see the positives, this just flummoxed me - some friend!
But it has opened my eyes to this whole MLM madness, so if anyone ever tries it again they're going to get more than a few choice words. It really is bewildering how so many people get sucked in.

cozietoesie · 02/01/2017 21:44

She's not your friend any more, I fear - or not more than a little sliver squashed well down. You've become a 'mark'.

acatcalledjohn · 02/01/2017 22:09

Cozie is right. She isn't a friend anymore, sadly.

I'm not surprised you were too shocked to say anything. It's a low blow, and something a true friend would never use for their own financial gain.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 02/01/2017 22:12

Hi I realise she's probably left but I just found this thread and feel the need to comment on flumpsnlumps's comment about the physiotherapist.

Anyone calling themselves a physiotherapist in the U.K. is registered with the Health and Care Porfessions Council and trying to sell you Arbonne products sounds like a breach of professional standards. They can (and in my opinion should) be reported directly to the hcpc regardless of their employer.

cozietoesie · 02/01/2017 22:14

Oh it's one heck of a breach, SAC. I wouldn't disagree with you.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 02/01/2017 22:24

I've been surprised what some people get away with but this is unbelievable.

And please excuse my typing errors in my post.

Twunk · 02/01/2017 23:26

I was thinking the same SAC - the professional body should hear about this.

I've been super busy huns with my totally EXCITING new business opportunity EEEEEEEEK. I'm keeping it schtum for now but EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK when the time is right you'll want to take part in this A-MAZ-ING opportunity.

Oh fuck I cannot keep this up. How the fuck do they sound so fucking excited all the time? Does Aloe contain speed or something? Ffs.

An old school friend is sooooooo excited to be selling Jsmberry Nails! Eeeeeeeeeeeek. IT'S NAIL STICKERS NOT A CURE FOR CANCER.

Seriously, we need to close down these companies. I've got a large sledgehammer and some bolt cutters - anyone coming with me?

Toobusytowee · 03/01/2017 00:37

Does anyone reading these threads have any bad experiences with a make up MLM? I've been contacted by a reporter who is looking for some information.

PM me huns.

Also, I agree about the Physio needing to be reported. They have crossed a line there. Quite a big, obvious line.

And a quick comment about Aloe Vera. It should not be taken by pregnant women due to a few reasons- it should not be taken internally, children under 16 shouldn't have it, it has high vitamin A levels which could damage a developing baby. Also, there are no good reasons for taking it, so why would you?

moreslackthanslick · 03/01/2017 01:15

Eeeeeeeeek!!!!!!

acatcalledjohn · 03/01/2017 08:04

PM me huns

Anyone else read this in Dannii's voice?

Billy Bardon had a ten-foot #lardon
And he showed it to the lady next door.
She thought it was a snake
So she hit it with a rake
And now it's only four foot four.
