Dont let the bot mentioned above press your buttons folks. Thats what she wants, any attention is better than no attention. On a different topic, Ive joined slimming world and lost 3lbs on my 1st week, and the other half has lost 6lbs. Guess what ? We have done it without using the "C9". Gosh don' t know how we did it !!!!!!! Could it be healthy food and excercise really works?Grin

Twunk · 11/11/2016 13:43

Are you sure you've not been chewing on an aloe plant Annie?

Toobusytowee · 11/11/2016 14:41

Annie, don't post any before and after pictures of your weight loss or they'll get stolen by some MLM peddler claiming you did it with their product.

Annie65 · 11/11/2016 15:27

Twunk,I always think of "day of the triffids" when I hear of aloe plants. Poor aloe plants, FL have scared me for life. Toobusy, I might post the after pics, deffo not the before.Grin

Posted a couple of weeks ago on the Health forum about my teenage child's flaky scalp and had a few good suggestions about products to try. Never really check my inbox on here but did today and found:

"have you ever tried Aloe-Jojoba Shampoo and conditioner. My little one had so much problems with dundruff and flaky skin and after bying alot of products from boots or other stores they didnt help much. But then i heard about this shampo Aloe-Jojoba Shampoo and it is really good. it works immediatly and you will be able to see the improvements of the skin, it leaves the skin fresh and moisturised. My daughter is 4 years and it was really bad for us to see her in that condition, with itchy scalp as well. i bought it at this website, it is a little pricey but it is worth every penny. good luck. also my GP told me that dandruf sometimes is caused when the immune system is weak, so I would suggest also to use some honey and keep an eye with the multivitamins that needs to be taken, because the food nowdays its not anymore bio.

VERY CROSS. Have reported the poster to MN, but does this count as making health claims?

Spongebobette · 11/11/2016 17:03

I don't know if curing 'dundruff' is a health claim

😁

LunaLoveg00d · 11/11/2016 17:11

Well no. But all the guff about immune system weakness and "food not being anymore bio".

cozietoesie · 11/11/2016 17:14

I'd say not. But it's not what PMs should be used for in my view.

Spongebobette · 11/11/2016 17:26

Is it true that a weak immune system causes dandruff? I call bullshit

And no, not an acceptable use of PMs

LunaLoveg00d · 11/11/2016 17:31

Have reported the PM to Mumsnet.

Spongebobette · 11/11/2016 17:37

I have found her FB page

FB is different. The PM has adopted a more 'low key' and cuddly approach - who knows but that it might work with some MNers?

FromIbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 11/11/2016 18:34

These FL bots are like stalkers aren't they?

Any forum, selling page, craft fair, school fete, toddler group etc up they pop! Whatever your ailment, condition or problem they have a solution.

They probably prowl the aisles of chemists and look for unsuspecting victims who are browsing the shelves for skin creams, shampoos or supplements and start with the " ooh do you suffer with X? I used to have that but then I discovered this excellent product...." bullshit

Toobusytowee · 11/11/2016 19:55

Luna, the claim about FL products curing dandruff may be a health claim I suppose. Dandruff is a skin condition and she is selling a product she claims to help. Her product has not been shown to help and is not on the list of allowable claims from the EU. The other claims from her that Sponge has pointed out, are definitely not allowed.

You would be well within your rights to report to the ASA. It is quick and easy to do. They have a dedicated person who is dealing with FL claims at the moment as there are so many colplaints flooding in.

Those claims are so wrong and are being directed at you. This person needs to stop.

Spongebobette · 11/11/2016 20:12

Really, they have a dedicated person just for FL? Excellent.

Spongebobette · 11/11/2016 20:15

It's noticeable that the top bots don't mention all these health claims, they focus on 'business opportunities', leaving the newer low down bots to carry on that narrative and expose themselves

cozietoesie · 11/11/2016 20:54

I think that my main reservation is about whether it would be regarded as an ad within the ASA's remit, Toobusy.

Spongebobette · 11/11/2016 20:56

I've reported the FB stuff just now

Toobusytowee · 11/11/2016 22:43

Cozie, I think it may be relevant to the ASA as it could be construed as a marketing ploy. Claims were made by a seller of the product and they were actively trying to sell it. I will look into it further.

Sponge, I was told on the Bot Watch Face Book page by a follower about the dedicated person in the ASA. The follower was contacting the ASA to see what was happening with their FL complaint. They were told about this dedicated person who was necessary due to such high levels of complaints.

cozietoesie · 11/11/2016 22:49

Interesting thought, Toobusy. I had a 'reservation' only.

Interested to hear how your look see pans out? Smile

Toobusytowee · 11/11/2016 22:56

I'm not sure Cozie. PMing someone flogging stuff seems a bit of a grey area. Could it be construed as a commercial email? Or direct mail? Hmmm. Attached is a screenshot of what the ASA cover.

cozietoesie · 11/11/2016 22:58

Well it would be interesting to have some sort of informed ruling. Smile

cozietoesie · 11/11/2016 23:00

And, luckily, I doubt it's a grey area where site moderators are concerned. Wink

cozietoesie · 11/11/2016 23:09

PS - 'Partnership on AI' might also prove worthy of some research if you have 10? (Huh says Toobusy !Grin)
