Income support question

According to the internet, if you're on income support, you're allowed to have savings of up to £5999 without it affecting your benefit. Does that include how much you have in your bank account? For instance, if you have the full savings are you then allowed to have nothing in your current account? So when your income support gets paid into your current account you'd then technically be over the 5999 limit?
