Temporary work and tax credits

I started a temporary work 3 weeks ago. My working hours have dropped from 35 per week to only 7 hours this week. I assume this job won't last long. The agency keeps me informed on daily basis.
I just wonder what details should I give to tax credits with regards to my income or employer( recruitment agency)? I work different hours each week and do not want to end up in a mess. What if it is only short term employment? Should I give them exact figure for the last 3 weeks or estimated annual income? I am confused.
Should I ring them today or wait another week? I have had some childcare costs.
Any info will be appreciated.
