Just watched Mrs LTW's video. speechless

cozietoesie · 20/07/2016 14:14

It's quite depressing isn't it? When you think that there are real, people - possibly with real money issues - out there. Sad

Seenthelight21 · 20/07/2016 15:06

More brainwashing in FLP!!!!

Spongebobette · 20/07/2016 15:09

can someone point me in the direction of Mrs LTW's video?

ForeverYazoonique · 20/07/2016 15:26

I'm left handed and I angle the page - never occurred to me to turn it upside down. Grin

keeptheaspidistra · 20/07/2016 17:12

It is quite sad, no one deserves online abuse. I think its better to prevent it rather than react to it. Dont have 7000 friends and followers, don't have public social media setting and please PLEASE don't use your children (your reason "why", that ploy makes me cringe) as a marketing tool for any Tom Dick or Harry to see.
If you sell your lifestyle to recruit don't be surprised when people question this!
She identifies network marketing is the problem but doesn't seem to grasp why Hmm

RethBobinson · 20/07/2016 17:17

Hi, de lurker here. Have you seen LTW has now branched out from boxes of tat to tablets and generic mobile phones, still for the original £165? I'm fascinated appalled and baffled at the same time.

keeptheaspidistra · 20/07/2016 17:21

That's a dodgy name Reth Confused

Spongebobette · 20/07/2016 18:01

Oh dear I've just watched that video. Poor girl she absolutely doesn't get it at all. It's really very sad.

Spongebobette · 20/07/2016 18:04

And she can't spell professional even though she goes on about it

darceybussell · 20/07/2016 18:16

I had a nosy at the video, I assumed that in the video she was talking about things people had written on TV and bot watch, so I went off to read it all and I can't for the life of me work out what she is talking about! Have the offending comments been deleted by bot watch or is she talking about the stuff that is still up there, most of which says things like '[name] has posted a screenshot to her Facebook but I don't understand it'. Is that what she means by 'vile' because my husband has said worse things to me when he didn't like my outfit!

Spongebobette · 20/07/2016 18:18

And that LTW website? Laughable.

Just came across this thread and have done a bit of skim reading, so apologies for not really being up to date. Just felt like a bit of a rant....my DP has a DD from a previous relationship. Her mother is involved in one of these 'schemes', I won't say which one. She is doing well and constantly boasts and attempts to brainwash anyone who'll listen. She has now started taking DD to training and conferences etc...making her do speeches in front of hundreds of people, basically using a 10 yr old as a marketing tool to con people. DD is becoming very materialistic and now doesn't want to see her Dad as much because she wants to promote this 'business'. Such a shame Sad

keeptheaspidistra · 20/07/2016 19:11

Island I wonder how these children will feel in a few years time that their faces are forever associated with these companies? I have a fb friend who is constantly staging photos of her toddlers and mlm products and posting them publicly or photos of them and dubious claims (small red haired babies don't need factor 50 aloe vera SPF 30 is fine apparently). These kids aren't old enough to give informed consent to this kind of marketing, seems to me the parents don't realise they are exploiting them

Annie65 · 20/07/2016 20:51

Seenthelight, that is a scarey video, it literally scared me. If I had been there I would have panicked, wondering what the hell was going on. The speaker ( think I know who it is by the sound of her voice) sounded very forceful and fierce to me, yet the people in the audience were half laughing which I think scared me the most. Its one thing to read about these things but to actually see and hear it is eye-opening.Shock

NorbertDentressangle · 20/07/2016 20:52

I too think it's awful how these bots use their children and put them on stage/in presentations/on endless fb posts.

I've seen a couple of references to bot's children devising goal boards, wanting to grow up and be FLBO etc Sad.

There does seem to be a time when the children start objecting though- for example one of our favourite FL bots features her daughter all the time but her son rarely features and she's made references to him not wanting to be photographed (I guess he must be about 12yo??).

My local bot posts endlessly about her children - the 2 youngest are dragged into any photo opportunity to illustrate the "idyllic" family lifestyle they lead even to the extent that bot boasts about the independent schools her business pays for....naming the schools! So basically anyone looking at her open fb page knows their names, what they look like, their schools, their interests and hobbies etc.

The older ones (teenagers) definitely avoid at all costs so maybe the brainwashing of children is short-lived? (we can but hope)

Toobusytowee · 20/07/2016 23:41

Bot Watch hasn't deleted any bullying posts. There weren't any.

And, who'd have thought that these threads would come up with a solution for left handed DS - not sure what his teachers will think of him turning his books upside down though ;)

CamelsAndMaus · 21/07/2016 06:28

Just watched the video clip seen posted. and found that incredibly scary as well. Yes the audience didn't seem to be taking it too seriously, but just imagine if they were? And the parallels with religious factions hit home too.

I'm obviously now too invested as I'm starting to wonder whether Mr. Maker is infiltrating the subconscious of our children:

cozietoesie · 21/07/2016 06:57

Oh Goodness. I heard that on first play as 'I am a shake.'

It's catching. Grin

Annie65 · 21/07/2016 07:23

CAM Grin its uncanny. Being serious though I dont need any1 telling me Im a"powerful woman", I already know, looking after my two Grandsons 3 and 5 full time. Powerful and knackered.Wink

darceybussell · 21/07/2016 07:48

Thanks Toobusy, she said 'they wrote nasty things about my kids' and then all her mates went nuts in the comments. If someone has said something nasty about her kids then obviously that's horrible and I do feel for her - but I've trawled through bot watch and I can't see anything about her kids.

Have to assume she is either talking about different people or she is making it up for dramatic effect.

IslandLife · 21/07/2016 07:57

Keep - I think it's horrible to drag these poor kids into this ridiculous business when they have no say in it. And the Facebook tirade is beyond....constant posts 'look at our amazing cars, look at how big our house is, can't believe my kids get to go to the most expensive school in the area, aren't you jealous of our lavish lifestyle, look at me posing with my bonus cheque.' It makes me so angry! And all the poor people getting sucked in by all of it. DP's DD now tells us about how her mum is the best in the whole company because she's grown a 'business within a business'. She doesn't even understand what she's saying....and in the next breath she's sad because she spends so much time in her room, alone because Mum's always with her work friends. Angry

I think that the appointment of the ICA is going to be crucial.
